Three things about me:
I'm a leggy gal. (Almost 6' tall.)I love lemons (although this blog isn't really about lemons).
I have a hot fascination with fresh, healthy food that tastes great.
So if those 3 facts don't kick up any kind of hint on why I started this blog, well, I can't help you. But, what I CAN help you with is creating some super-sexy, fresh, nutritious food that will keep your friends and family wanting to reserve a seat at your dinner table on a regular basis.
I grew up in an Italian family and our lives revolve around food and entertaining. Since my parents families' come from different areas of Italy, I feel like I have a nice mix of what Italian means. We have our heavy, meaty red sauces on one side and our light, fluffy recipes using olive oil and basil on another. It just so happens I married a man from east Texas and now I'm faced with eating a lot of Tex-Mex and southern comfort meals. So, I've done what I do best: lightened up the recipes and I'm taking YOU along for the ride with me.
Oh Yea: I've never eaten Tex-Mex or Real "Mexican" food until I moved to Dallas and now I'm happily besotted with it. Just not all of the crap that comes along with it--(the stuff that makes your thighs wiggle and your heart put up a "for sale" sign).
Food knowledge is important. I'm a firm believer of what we put into our bodies and how it affects everything. So I've switched out a lot of normal, everyday household food items with healthier alternatives, but hear me out. I've tried ALL of them. My husband has tried ALL of them--and if he approves, I'm sure you will, too. Half the time, he doesn't even notice or likes it better!
I have rules though. My rules are to use my recipes and experiment with your own creative, inventive blasts of energy to make it "yours". And tell me, hell, SHOW ME about it! Email me. Instagram and Twitter: (follow me @theleggylemon on both!) your photos with #theleggylemon! Check me out on Facebook, I don't care as long as you're having fun and playing around with amazing food!
You outta know, that although I cook with primarily organic, NON-GMO, sustainable foods, I still enjoy life and will eat a piece of pizza on a Friday night or have those nachos at the game. I'll eat that fettuccini that my mom makes when I'm in town. I do drink alcohol at social gatherings. And, last but not least, I love going on dinner dates with my husband. So, I'm not one of "those people" who refuses to eat the banana bread chock full of butter and sugar that the 90 year old lady at church made. Just a firm believer that when you're home cooking, you have control over what you feed your family.*
Tried to keep this short and it looks like I failed but if you have questions, just ask. My passion and pastime is food and healthy cooking. (I own a Graphic Design company by day.) I look forward to seeing those hashtags!
Legs and Lemons,

*I'm not a nutritionist, health care advisor, guru, doctor, etc., I have just done a bunch of my own research on food items their nutritional value, and how it has impacted my body. My research comes from reading and studying the latest reference books, online research from reputable sources, and some cause and effect through the years.
